Civil Engineer - RO Plant Construction Project

The Civil Engineer will supervise and coordinate all civil construction works for the RO plant project. Theperson will make sure that the work is completed safely, correctly, on time and as per approved drawings,specifications and project requirements.Main Responsibilities:Study approved drawings, specifications, BOQ and project scope before starting the work.Supervise excavation, filling, compaction, concrete, reinforcement, shuttering and structural works.Supervise foundations for pumps, tanks, skids, pipe racks, equipment and other RO plant facilities.Coordinate construction of buildings, control rooms, chemical rooms, stores, roads, drainage andexternal works.Check line, level, dimensions and location of all civil works before and during construction.Coordinate daily with mechanical, electrical, piping, process and instrumentation teams to avoidclashes and rework.Prepare or review method statements, inspection requests, material requests and site work plans.Ensure that approved materials are used and that all materials are properly stored and protected.Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, surveyors, laboratory staff and suppliers.Monitor subcontractor manpower, equipment and daily progress against the approved programme.Check quantities of completed work and support preparation of measurements, invoices andvariation claims.Maintain site records, daily reports, inspection records, test reports and progress photographs.Identify site problems early and give practical solutions to the Project Manager.Ensure that all civil works meet quality requirements and are ready for inspection and approval.Follow project HSE rules and stop unsafe work when required.Support testing, snag clearance, as-built drawings, handover documents and final project close-out.Quality and Safety DutiesFollow approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), method statements and quality procedures.Check concrete grade, reinforcement, cover, formwork, levels and dimensions before casting.Coordinate soil, compaction, concrete and other required laboratory tests.Raise non-conformance reports when required and follow up corrective action.Attend toolbox talks, safety meetings and site inspections.Make sure that work permits, barricading, access, housekeeping and safe working methods arefollowed. Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction projects. At least 3 years of GCC experience is preferred. Experience in RO plants, water treatment plants, wastewater plants or industrial projects is strongly preferred.Good understanding of concrete structures, foundations, underground services, drainage and sitedevelopment works.Knowledge of Saudi Building Code, project specifications and common international constructionstandards is preferred.Technical and Personal SkillsAble to read civil, structural and coordination drawings clearly.Good knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word and email communication.Basic knowledge of project planning software such as Primavera or MS Project is an advantage. Able to prepare clear reports, measurements and site records.Good communication and coordination skills in English; Hindi or Malayalam is an advantage.Able to work under pressure and manage several site activities at the same time.Practical, responsible and willing to work at the project site.Key Performance ExpectationsCivil works completed as per approved drawings and quality requirements.Minimum rework, delays and material wastage.Inspections approved without repeated comments.Accurate progress reports, quantity records and handover documents.Safe and well-coordinated work at site
