About the role

Lootah Biofuels is seeking a Process Engineer to support, monitor, and improve biofuel production processes. The role will focus on plant performance, process optimization, troubleshooting, quality, safety, and improving production efficiency while minimizing waste, downtime, and operating costs.

*Key Responsibilities*

  • Monitor and optimize daily biofuel production processes and plant performance.
  • Analyze process parameters, production data, yields, energy consumption, and material losses.
  • Identify process issues, bottlenecks, and opportunities for efficiency improvement.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and improve operating procedures, process controls, and production standards.
  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Laboratory, and HSE teams.
  • Monitor the performance of equipment, tanks, pumps, reactors, heat exchangers, piping, and related process systems.
  • Support plant trials, process modifications, commissioning, and improvement projects.
  • Ensure raw materials, feedstocks, chemicals, and finished products meet required process specifications.
  • Prepare process calculations, reports, mass balances, performance reports, and technical documentation.
  • Support investigation of production deviations, product quality issues, and equipment\-related process problems.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce production cost, energy usage, chemical consumption, and waste.
  • Ensure process activities comply with company HSE procedures and applicable standards.

*Requirements*

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in process engineering or industrial production.
  • Experience in biofuels, biodiesel, chemical processing, oil \& gas, refinery, petrochemical, or manufacturing plants is preferred.
  • Good understanding of process equipment, P\&IDs, process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, and process control.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem\-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of plant safety and HSE requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and engineering/process software.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Good command of English.
