Software QA Engineer
Job Summary
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications. You will work closely with developers, project managers, and other team members to identify defects, validate new features, and ensure that applications meet business and technical requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot application issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities
➤ Software Testing
- Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and system testing.
- Test new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across different environments.
- Identify edge cases and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Perform cross\-browser and cross\-platform testing where required.
➤ API \& Database Testing
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Validate API requests, responses, status codes, authentication, and data.
- Perform basic database testing using MySQL or other relational databases.
- Write SQL queries to verify data accuracy and application functionality.
➤ Defect Management
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Provide clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, and supporting information.
- Work closely with developers to investigate and resolve reported issues.
- Perform regression testing after defects are fixed.
- Verify fixes and ensure resolved issues do not introduce new defects.
➤ QA Process \& Documentation
- Maintain test cases, test scenarios, test data, and testing documentation.
- Participate in requirement reviews and provide QA feedback.
- Identify potential risks and quality issues early in the development process.
- Prepare testing status reports and communicate issues and progress to relevant team members.
- Follow established QA standards, processes, and best practices.
➤ Team Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, project managers, business analysts, and other QA team members.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities such as sprint planning, daily stand\-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Communicate testing results, defects, and risks clearly.
- Support the development team in reproducing and troubleshooting issues.
➤ Continuous Learning
- Stay updated with current QA tools, testing techniques, and industry best practices.
- Learn and contribute to automated testing where applicable.
- Continuously improve testing processes and overall product quality.
Qualifications \& Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2\+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing.
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Hands\-on experience with manual testing.
- Good knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and system testing.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and database testing, preferably MySQL.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of automation testing is an advantage.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
Pay: AED6,000\.00 \- AED8,000\.00 per month
