What will you be doing?
Overview
Subsea7 is hiring a Structures Deputy Discipline Manager (DDM), responsible for developing the Structures Discipline within the Middle East region in line with business needs and ensuring technical competence for the execution of studies, tenders and projects within their technical area of responsibility.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
Key Responsbilities
Support the Global Projects Centre (GPC) Functional Management by promoting, implementing and supporting regional development of the GPC Engineering standard ‘ways\-of\-working’ \- processes, methods, tools, standardization and digitalisation as defined by the Function
Manage ME Discipline services and resources (in alignment with the Function) to provide support to projects tenders, studies and other discipline activities.
Participate to the recruitment of personnel in alignment with the Function and in accordance with the global resource plan
Act as daily contact for support to projects and tenders and support other regions on technical topics to develop collaborative model.
As ‘one GPC’, support the Function in alignment and coordination of the activities between all regions for the discipline areas of expertise
Ensure compliance to standardised engineering policies, processes and systems such that engineering across the Discipline is effective and quality driven
Ensure that all design and detailing within the Discipline is in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides; Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
Identification, mitigation and management of technical risk, participating in necessary project reviews, as deemed required
Ensure project fitness\-for\-purpose, legislative compliance and adherence to project budget and schedule.
Prioritise safety and follow Safety in Design best practices
Participate in supporting business improvement initiatives by providing resources and identifying opportunities back to the Function.
Participate in Knowledge Management to enable the Discipline to communicate and share knowledge, Lessons Learned, best practice and skills
Stay up to date with latest technologies, equipment, techniques and codes/standards to maintain Subsea 7 competitiveness and support technology developments / studies as required
Manage direct reports, participate in Compass process, training and development processes, support Graduate Engineer Development Scheme (GEDS).
Create and sustain a welcoming work environment that encourages collaboration, transparency, and integrity
Assist project with knowledge in its own area of specialization and be the local point for every local functional aspect
