Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager – Operations \& Business Development to lead and manage our day\-to\-day transportation operations, supervise the operations team, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the continued growth of the company.

The Transport Manager will work closely with and report to the General Manager, taking responsibility for the effective execution of daily transport operations and ensuring that the operations team performs efficiently and consistently.

The role will also involve developing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, improving operational systems, and recommending practical strategies to increase revenue, utilization, and profitability.

We are looking for a hands\-on manager who can take strong responsibility for daily operations while keeping management regularly informed of operational performance, challenges, and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

\- Lead and supervise daily transport and trucking operations.

\- Manage the existing operations team, transport coordinators, and drivers.

\- Ensure proper planning and allocation of trucks, trailers, drivers, and trips.

\- Monitor daily operations and ensure timely pickup, delivery, and completion of customer requirements.

\- Coordinate import/export container movements, port operations, and transportation across the UAE.

\- Establish and improve operational procedures, reporting systems, and team accountability.

\- Handle and resolve operational issues including delays, detention, port issues, driver coordination, and customer concerns.

\- Coordinate with management regarding fleet availability and operational requirements.

\- Monitor fleet utilization, fuel consumption, trip performance, transportation costs, and operational efficiency.

\- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce unnecessary costs, and increase profitability.

\- Ensure proper maintenance of PODs, EIRs, trip records, gate passes, and other operational documentation.

\- Monitor team performance and ensure responsibilities and company procedures are properly followed.

\- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers.

\- Identify potential new customers and business opportunities within the UAE transportation and logistics sector.

\- Develop relationships with freight forwarders, shipping companies, logistics companies, and other potential business partners.

\- Support rate preparation, quotations, commercial discussions, and customer negotiations in coordination with management.

\- Recommend strategies for increasing revenue, improving utilization, and developing the transport business.

\- Prepare and present regular operational and performance reports to the General Manager.

\- Escalate significant operational, commercial, or customer matters to management when required.

\- Work closely with the General Manager and ownership to achieve the company's operational and business growth objectives.

\- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant UAE experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or a similar management role.

\- Strong knowledge of UAE trucking, container transportation, road transport, and logistics operations.

\- Experience managing transport coordinators, drivers, or an operations team.

\- Experience with UAE ports and import/export container transportation is preferred.

\- Strong leadership, planning, decision\-making, and problem\-solving skills.

\- Good understanding of transportation costing, rates, utilization, and operational profitability.

\- Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills.

\- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.

\- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and operational reporting.

\- UAE driving licence is an advantage.
