How the data is built
Fixed-date holidays (New Year, Labour Day, National Day, Commemoration Day) come from the ministry’s annual circular. Tagged Confirmed on day one.
Lunar holidays (the two Eids, Islamic New Year, Mawlid, Isra and Mi’raj) aren’t gazetted until the moon-sighting committee announces, usually one to three days before. Until then they’re tagged Scheduled. The moment a ministry confirms, the row flips.
UAE, Saudi, and Qatar can differ by a day on the same Eid. Each country’s calendar reflects only that country’s official position. We don’t average.
