About the role

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contract Manager to oversee the commercial and contractual management of construction projects from pre\-contract/tender stage through project execution, close\-out, and final account.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contract administration, commercial management, cost control, variations, claims, EOT, payment certification, risk management, and dispute avoidance, while ensuring that contractors and consultants comply with contractual obligations.

The candidate should have strong experience in FIDIC\-based construction contracts, preferably within a PMC, consultant, or client\-side environment, with a sound understanding of UAE/GCC construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and contractual administration of construction projects throughout the project lifecycle, from tender/pre\-contract stage through project completion and final account.
  • Review, interpret, and administer contracts, specifications, BOQs, drawings, Employer’s Requirements, and other contractual documents, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice to the Client, Project Director, and senior management on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and potential exposures.
  • Administer FIDIC and other forms of construction contracts and ensure timely issuance and response to contractual notices, instructions, submissions, and correspondence.
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditure, forecasts, cost\-to\-complete, and overall commercial performance.
  • Review and evaluate contractor interim payment applications, measurements, variations, deductions, retention, advance payment recovery, and other contractual adjustments.
  • Review, assess, negotiate, and recommend approval/rejection of variations, change orders, and contractor commercial proposals.
  • Manage and evaluate contractor claims relating to additional cost, Extension of Time (EOT), delay, disruption, prolongation, acceleration, loss and expense, and other contractual entitlements.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Project Controls, Engineering, QS, Procurement, and other project teams to establish the contractual and commercial basis of variations and claims.
  • Maintain and regularly update commercial registers, including Variation Register, Claims Register, Risk Register, Payment Register, and Contractual Obligations Register.

  • Interim payment and final account management.
  • Tender evaluation and contract negotiation.
  • Commercial risk management.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience with Primavera P6/project controls systems is an advantage.

Experience

  • 12–15\+ years of relevant experience in commercial and contract management within the construction industry.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a PMC, consultancy, or client\-side environment is preferred.
  • Strong experience managing major building, infrastructure, MEP, or mixed\-use development projects.
  • Proven experience in FIDIC contracts, variations, claims, EOT, payment certification, and final accounts.

Pay: From AED21,000\.00 per month
