Electrical Engineer – High\-Rise Building Project

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our high\-rise building project team in Dubai. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring electrical works to ensure that installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and applicable UAE regulations.

The position requires close coordination with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other construction disciplines to achieve project quality, schedule, and handover requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor electrical works at site, including LV systems, lighting, power distribution, emergency power, ELV systems, earthing, lightning protection, and other electrical installations.
• Review approved electrical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
• Ensure electrical installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, approved materials, and project requirements.
• Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, architectural, structural, and other MEP works.
• Monitor subcontractors' daily activities, manpower, materials, and productivity.
• Inspect electrical installations and coordinate with the QA/QC team for required inspections and approvals.
• Prepare and follow up on Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Method Statements, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
• Monitor installation and testing of MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, cable containment, cables, lighting systems, small power, emergency systems, and related equipment.
• Coordinate with ELV contractors for systems such as fire alarm, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and other low\-current systems where applicable.
• Identify clashes, discrepancies, and technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare and respond to RFIs and technical queries related to electrical works.
• Monitor electrical work progress against the approved project schedule.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
• Ensure electrical works comply with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.
• Coordinate material requirements with procurement and site teams.
• Review and monitor installation of electrical equipment and ensure proper testing and documentation.
• Assist in reviewing and updating as\-built drawings.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, energization, and final inspection activities.
• Support preparation of handover documents, O\&M manuals, testing reports, commissioning records, and authority approval documentation.
• Attend coordination and progress meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE/Dubai authority requirements, project specifications, and international electrical standards.
• Perform other duties related to electrical engineering and site execution as assigned by the Project/MEP Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant engineering certification/registration is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in high\-rise building construction.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC construction industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and installation practices.
• Experience in MEP coordination and site supervision.
• Knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, power, emergency systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Familiarity with ELV systems and coordination.
• Experience with AutoCAD and relevant engineering/electrical software.
• Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, testing, commissioning, and handover requirements.
