Mechanical Engineer – High\-Rise Building Project

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our high\-rise building project team in Dubai. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating mechanical works, ensuring that all installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, safety standards, and UAE regulations.

The role will involve close coordination with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines to ensure timely and quality completion of mechanical works.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor mechanical works at site, including HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
• Review approved shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents prior to execution.
• Ensure mechanical installations are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, approved materials, and project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP services.
• Monitor subcontractors' daily activities, manpower, materials, and productivity.
• Inspect completed installations and coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and approvals.
• Prepare and follow up on Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Method Statements, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and balancing of mechanical systems.
• Identify site issues, clashes, discrepancies, and technical problems and coordinate their resolution with the relevant parties.
• Review and respond to RFIs and technical queries related to mechanical works.
• Monitor project progress and ensure mechanical activities are completed according to the approved construction schedule.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.
• Monitor material requirements and coordinate with procurement and site teams to ensure materials are available as required.
• Assist in reviewing as\-built drawings and ensure site installations are properly documented.
• Participate in testing and commissioning activities and ensure all required documentation is completed.
• Support preparation of handover documentation, O\&M manuals, testing reports, and commissioning records.
• Attend coordination and progress meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE/Dubai authority requirements, project specifications, and international standards.
• Perform other duties related to mechanical engineering and site execution as assigned by the Project/MEP Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant engineering certification/registration is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in high\-rise building construction.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC construction industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, ventilation, and fire protection systems.
• Experience in MEP coordination and site supervision.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant engineering/MEP software.
• Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, testing, commissioning, and handover requirements.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements for construction sites.
