Procurement Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and detail\-oriented Fit\-Out Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of interior fit\-out and construction projects, including cost estimation, quantity take\-offs, procurement, variations, valuations, and final accounts. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in interior fit\-out, villas, commercial spaces, offices, retail, hospitality, or similar projects, with a thorough understanding of construction materials, finishes, subcontractor packages, and UAE construction practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare accurate quantity take\-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and pricing for fit\-out projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications, tender documents, and scope of works.
• Prepare and evaluate tender packages and subcontractor enquiries.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate prices, commercial terms, and scope with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, and project cash\-flow forecasts.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Prepare and evaluate variation orders, claims, and additional works.
• Measure completed works and prepare monthly progress valuations.
• Review and certify subcontractor payment applications based on actual site progress.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Procurement Team, and Accounts Department regarding commercial matters.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, variations, and payments.
• Assist in preparation and negotiation of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor invoices and ensure that payments are made in accordance with contractual terms.
• Identify commercial risks and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure all commercial documentation is properly maintained and updated.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify completed quantities and assess actual progress.
• Assist in tendering and estimating activities for new projects.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures, and project budgets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS \& EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the UAE fit\-out/construction industry.
• Strong experience in interior fit\-out and finishing works is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of architectural finishes, joinery, gypsum works, flooring, ceilings, painting, partitions, MEP coordination, and other fit\-out trades.
• Experience in preparing BOQs, quantity take\-offs, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Good understanding of subcontractor management and procurement.
• Familiarity with UAE construction practices, commercial procedures, and contractual requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying/commercial software.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
