Job Purpose
To monitor and verify that site activities, materials, equipment, and completed works comply with approved project requirements, company procedures, specifications, and quality standards. The Quality Controller will conduct regular inspections, identify non\-conformities, maintain accurate records, and follow up on corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify that work is being carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and company procedures.
- Inspect ongoing and completed works and identify quality issues or non\-conformities.
- Check the quality of materials delivered to the site and verify that they meet project requirements.
- Monitor earthwork, excavation, filling, grading, compaction, road works, and other construction activities as applicable.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, foremen, and operators regarding quality requirements.
- Record inspection findings, observations, defects, and non\-conformities.
- Prepare daily and weekly quality inspection reports.
- Take and maintain photographic records of site conditions and quality issues.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until issues are properly closed.
- Verify that corrective actions have been completed effectively.
- Ensure required quality documentation and inspection records are properly maintained.
- Support the Quality Manager during internal inspections, client inspections, and project audits.
- Monitor compliance with approved Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection \& Test Plans (ITP), and project procedures.
- Report repeated or serious quality issues immediately to management.
- Coordinate with surveyors and site teams to verify levels, quantities, alignment, and other applicable requirements.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure activities are completed to the required standard.
- Maintain proper filing of inspection checklists, reports, test results, photographs, and other quality records.
- Assist in investigating the root causes of recurring quality problems.
- Ensure that quality\-related instructions from management and project requirements are communicated to the relevant site personnel.
- Perform other quality\-related duties assigned by the Quality Manager.
Required Qualifications \& Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in construction, infrastructure, earthwork, road works, or a similar field.
- Experience in site inspection and quality control is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction materials, earthworks, compaction, road works, and basic surveying is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of inspection procedures and quality documentation.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- UAE construction experience is preferred.
