Sumer Contracting LLC is looking for a competent and motivated mid\-level Quantity Surveyor to support cost management and commercial activities across our building construction projects. The candidate will work closely with the QS Manager and Operation Manager to ensure effective cost control and accurate project documentation.

The Role

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost\-control aspects of construction and renovation projects from initial estimating through to final account. The successful candidate will work closely with the design, procurement, project management and site teams to ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take\-offs, bills of quantities and cost estimates.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documents to identify project requirements.
• Prepare accurate project budgets and cost plans.
• Obtain, review and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist with tender preparation, tender analysis and subcontractor negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain cost reports and commercial forecasts.
• Review variations, additional works and claims, ensuring appropriate documentation and approval.
• Measure completed works and prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
• Assist with preparation and agreement of final accounts.
• Identify potential cost savings and commercial risks.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to monitor progress against budget.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, variations, valuations and commercial correspondence.
• Ensure procurement and commercial activities are aligned with project programmes.
• Provide regular commercial updates and reports to management.

Requirements

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction, fit\-out, renovation or interior design and build sector.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, measurement, procurement and contract administration.
• Experience preparing BOQs, estimates, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, labour costs and subcontractor pricing.
• Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant estimating or QS software.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, in English is a must, additional languages a bonus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• UAE construction experience is highly desirable.
