Draftsman

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail\-oriented Draftsman to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate architectural and technical drawings, shop drawings, as\-built drawings, and other project documentation based on architectural designs, engineering requirements, and site conditions.

The Draftsman will work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure that drawings are accurate, coordinated, and prepared according to project specifications, UAE regulations, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed architectural and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant drafting software.
• Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, layouts, details, and construction drawings.
• Convert architects' and engineers' concepts, sketches, and specifications into detailed technical drawings.
• Prepare shop drawings, working drawings, and as\-built drawings as required.
• Review drawings, dimensions, specifications, and project requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Revise and update drawings based on comments from architects, engineers, consultants, clients, and site teams.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, and other disciplines to identify and resolve clashes or discrepancies.
• Ensure all drawings comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable UAE regulations, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors to verify measurements and existing site conditions.
• Conduct site visits when required to collect measurements and confirm construction details.
• Prepare drawings and technical documents required for project submissions and authority approvals.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, submissions, and approved documents.
• Ensure all drawing revisions are properly identified and documented.
• Assist project teams in resolving technical and drawing\-related issues during construction.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers when required.
• Ensure drawings are completed accurately and submitted within project deadlines.
• Support the project team with additional drafting and technical documentation requirements.

Qualifications \& Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Draftsman, preferably within the UAE construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or other design/drafting software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of architectural drawings, construction details, dimensions, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building practices.
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards, regulations, and authority requirements is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Ability to manage multiple drawings and revisions while meeting deadlines.
• UAE driving license is an advantage.
