Facade Design Team Leader

Lead day\-to\-day façade design delivery for the assigned team/projects under the Department Head, ensuring appropriate resource planning, technical governance, interdisciplinary coordination, timely submissions, and accountable closure from design development through as\-built stage.

Key Responsibilities

· Translate Department Head priorities into project\-wise design programmes, deliverable schedules, resource allocations, checking plans, and daily/weekly actions.

· Allocate work according to competence and workload; monitor progress, productivity, quality, leave coverage, and critical dependencies.

· Lead design strategy and technical coordination for complex façade systems, interfaces, mock\-ups, testing, procurement, production, and installation requirements.

· Establish package\-level checking and approval workflows and ensure no drawing is externally issued without the required review and authorization.

· Review critical drawings, RFIs, technical submissions, material interfaces, deviations, value\-engineering proposals, fabrication information, and as\-built records.

· Coordinate with Department Heads, PMD, Planning, Estimation, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, Site, Document Control, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

· Maintain and report design status, resource load, submission/approval status, risks, overdue inputs, variations, rework, and recovery actions to the Department Head.

· Ensure consultant/site comments, NCRs, technical queries, and design changes are assigned, recorded, closed, and communicated to affected functions.

· Develop team capability through coaching, technical reviews, standard details, lessons learned, training needs, probation/performance input, and succession planning.

· Support recruitment technical assessments and manpower planning when requested, while final staffing and employment decisions remain with authorized management/HR.

Authority and Accountability

· Manage daily team assignment and recommend technical release in accordance with the approved authority matrix and Department Head instructions.

· Escalate changes affecting contract scope, specification, approved material/system, cost, programme, safety, or statutory compliance before implementation.

· Accountable for consolidated team output, review control, resource visibility, coordination, risk reporting, and recovery follow\-up.

· Cannot commit the company commercially, contractually, or to an unapproved technical deviation unless separately authorized in writing.

Qualifications and Experience

· Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.

· Working knowledge of aluminium, glass, cladding, curtain\-wall, window, door, and associated façade systems.

· Proven leadership of multidisciplinary façade design teams and delivery of complex projects from shop drawing through fabrication/site/as\-built stages.

· Strong knowledge of relevant façade standards, performance requirements, testing, tolerances, and approval processes.
