About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Planning \& Cost Control Engineer to join our team in Dubai. The role will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, resource planning, cost control, forecasting, and performance analysis across façade, aluminum, steel, and architectural metal works projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in construction planning and project cost control, with a solid understanding of project budgets, productivity, material requirements, procurement, project progress, variations, and overall financial performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning \& Scheduling

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent planning software.
• Prepare baseline programs, detailed execution schedules, manpower plans, material schedules, and procurement schedules.
• Establish project activities, sequences, durations, dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify delays, critical activities, and potential schedule risks.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look\-ahead schedules, and recovery programs.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Production, Procurement, Estimation, QS, and other departments to ensure timely project execution.
• Monitor site and factory activities against approved project programs and identify areas requiring corrective action.

Cost Control \& Project Performance

• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances and potential overruns.
• Track material, manpower, subcontractor, equipment, logistics, and other project\-related costs.
• Prepare cost forecasts, cash\-flow projections, cost\-to\-complete reports, and project performance reports.
• Monitor commitments, actual expenditure, accruals, forecasts, and final cost projections.
• Analyze productivity and resource utilization to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Review project quantities, BOQs, budgets, variations, and additional works from a planning and cost\-control perspective.
• Support Project Managers, QS, and Commercial teams in monitoring variations, claims, back charges, and their schedule and financial impacts.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Production teams to monitor material requirements, delivery schedules, and associated project costs.
• Analyze project performance using Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), Actual Cost (AC), CPI, SPI, and other relevant KPIs.
• Prepare management reports highlighting project status, cost position, risks, delays, and required corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of project budgets, commitments, actual costs, forecasts, variations, and cost\-to\-complete.

Project Close\-Out

• Assist with project close\-out by reviewing final costs, outstanding commitments, variations, and project financial performance.
• Prepare final cost analysis and lessons\-learned reports for future projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in construction planning and cost control.
• Experience in Façade, Aluminum, Architectural Metal, Steel, Glazing, or similar construction works is highly preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Good understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and progress measurement.
• Experience preparing weekly and monthly planning and cost\-control reports.
