Planning Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in high\-rise building construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination to ensure timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed baseline programmes using Primavera P6\.

Develop project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Prepare work breakdown structures, activity sequencing, resource allocation, and project milestones.

Update project programmes based on actual site progress.

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress against the approved baseline programme.

Prepare two\-week and four\-week look\-ahead schedules.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Develop manpower, material, equipment, and resource schedules.

Prepare S\-curves, manpower histograms, progress dashboards, and cash\-flow forecasts.

Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and procurement teams.

Coordinate with consultants and clients regarding programme submissions and progress updates.

Monitor shop drawings, material submittals, approvals, procurement, and delivery schedules.

Identify critical activities, potential delays, and programme risks.

Conduct critical\-path analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Prepare recovery, acceleration, and catch\-up programmes when required.

Monitor subcontractors’ programmes and ensure alignment with the master schedule.

Track actual quantities completed against planned quantities.

Attend progress, planning, and coordination meetings.

Prepare meeting presentations and progress information for management.

Maintain proper planning records, programme updates, and supporting documents.

Assist in preparing delay analysis, extension\-of\-time claims, and variation\-related programmes.

Coordinate with the commercial team for progress measurement and payment applications.

Ensure that all planning reports are accurate and submitted within the required deadlines.

Support the project team in achieving contractual milestones and completing the project on time.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in civil construction.

Proven experience in high\-rise building projects is mandatory.

UAE construction experience is required.

Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6\.

Proficiency in MS Project, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.

Good knowledge of construction sequences, project controls, and progress measurement.

Knowledge of delay analysis and extension\-of\-time claims will be an advantage.

Strong analytical, coordination, reporting, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.

Candidates currently available in the UAE will be preferred.
