Project Engineer

Manage and coordinate the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and interior fit\-out activities across assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning \& Coordination

• Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract documents for MEP and fit\-out scope.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules, method statements, and material submittals.
• Coordinate between MEP, civil, and fit\-out trades to prevent clashes and ensure smooth workflow.
• Attend and lead site coordination and progress meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

Execution \& Site Supervision

• Supervise day\-to\-day site activities for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire\-fighting, and low\-current systems.
• Oversee fit\-out works including partitions, ceilings, joinery, flooring, painting, and finishes.
• Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes/authority requirements.
• Monitor progress against program and take corrective action on delays.

Quality, Health \& Safety

• Enforce QA/QC procedures and conduct inspections; raise and close inspection requests (IRs).
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company safety policies on site.
• Coordinate with authorities (Civil Defence, DEWA/ADDC, municipality) for approvals and inspections.

Commercial \& Documentation

• Track material and manpower requirements; raise procurement/material requisitions.
• Review subcontractor works and support variation, progress claims, and payment certification.
• Maintain project records: daily reports, RFIs, submittals, drawings, and as\-built documentation.
• Support handover, testing \& commissioning, snagging, and closeout.

Qualifications \& Experience

• Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 4–8 years' experience in MEP and fit\-out projects (contracting background preferred).
• UAE/GCC project experience an advantage; knowledge of local authority requirements.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and project management practices.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and fit\-out execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office.
• Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
• Problem\-solving, time management, and attention to detail.
