Resident Engineer Having Experience in Consultants

Roles \& Responsibilities – Resident Engineer (RE)

• Site Supervision \& Construction Monitoring
• Lead and manage the consultant’s site supervision team.
• Monitor day\-to\-day construction activities and overall project progress.
• Ensure works are executed according to approved IFC drawings, specifications, BOQ, contract requirements and applicable authority regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify defective or non\-compliant works.
• Ensure contractors follow approved method statements and construction procedures.
• Technical \& Quality Control
• Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical proposals.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil and MEP disciplines.
• Review and respond to RFIs and technical queries.
• Ensure approved materials are used on site.
• Monitor inspections, testing, mock\-ups and workmanship.
• Issue or recommend NCRs where works do not comply with project requirements.
• Monitor closure of NCRs, snagging items and technical observations.
• Project \& Progress Management
• Monitor contractor performance against the approved construction programme.
• Review weekly/monthly progress and identify delays or critical issues.
• Review recovery programmes when the project falls behind schedule.
• Conduct and chair regular site/progress meetings.
• Follow up on outstanding decisions, approvals and action items.
• Escalate major risks and delays to the Project Manager/Client.
• Contract Administration
• Administer the construction contract within the authority delegated to the Consultant.
• Review contractor correspondence, claims, variations and Extension of Time submissions.
• Maintain proper records of site instructions and contractual communications.
• Review proposed variations and provide technical recommendations.
• Assist the QS/Commercial team in evaluating completed works and contractor payment applications.
• Client \& Contractor Coordination
• Act as the main site\-level representative of the Engineering Consultant.
• Coordinate between the Client, Contractor, Subcontractors, Design Consultants and relevant authorities.
• Attend Client meetings and provide accurate project status updates.
• Resolve site coordination and technical issues promptly.
• Ensure important decisions and instructions are formally documented.
• Authority \& Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure construction complies with applicable UAE/local authority requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with relevant authorities where required.
• Monitor compliance with Civil Defence, Municipality, DEWA and other project\-specific authority requirements.
• Ensure necessary approvals/NOCs are obtained before relevant activities proceed.
• HSE Monitoring
• Monitor the contractor's implementation of approved HSE plans.
• Report unsafe practices or serious site safety concerns.
• Coordinate with the contractor's HSE team and Consultant's HSE personnel.
• Ensure corrective actions are taken for observed safety deficiencies.
• Documentation \& Reporting
• Review daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain records of inspections, instructions, RFIs, NCRs, approvals and correspondence.
• Ensure proper photographic documentation of construction progress.
• Maintain records of significant site events, delays and contractor performance.
• Prepare reports for Consultant management and Client review.
• Testing, Commissioning \& Handover
• Supervise testing and commissioning activities with the relevant discipline engineers.
• Coordinate preparation of snag/punch lists.
• Monitor rectification of outstanding works.
• Review as\-built drawings, O\&M manuals, warranties and handover documentation.
• Support final inspections and project handover.
• Monitor outstanding defects during the Defects Liability Period as required.

Pay: AED12,000\.00 \- AED16,000\.00 per month
